Even though I was the youngest player in the league last year I still had such an amazing experience playing in this softball league. I was extremely nervous our first game, but every person was so supportive and welcoming, which made the season even more enjoyable. The playoffs were extremely fun and some of my favourite memories from the year. We also shared a lot of laughs throughout the season, even though it was for fun, the friendly competition was awesome! The year-end banquet was also a great way to celebrate the season and all the hard work every team put in. I learned a lot and had such a great time playing with this group, I’ll be coming back for many more years! 

As a first-time player, I was a little nervous joining, but I felt welcomed from day one. All the teams were so supportive and encouraging, and I learned so much in such a short time. Most of all, I had so much fun and always left feeling excited for the next week!

I grew up playing team sports in high school, but as an adult without a competitive sport, I didn’t know how to find that feeling of camaraderie again. LLSP is more than a sports league – it’s a community. One of my favourite aspects of the league is going out after for food or drinks as a group after the game – and even though I don’t drink, I don’t feel left out when we go to the bar and I order an iced tea. I’m grateful for the acceptance, inclusion, and overall fun that this league provides, for people of all skill levels!
